Braun Hi-Fi Set CSV-13, CE-16, PCS-5 & L470 by Dieter Rams
Braun Hi-Fi designed by Dieter Rams. Anyone who loves design should know the famous Dieter Rams. He made a huge impact in modern day design in many different areas. He is best known for his close association with Braun and Vitsœ.
This set features the CSV-13 amplifier, CE-16 tuner and PCS-5 turntable with a set of L470 speakers. The complete set is in great condition, everything has been checked, restored and serviced by a technician, where needed so you can enjoy this lovely set for years to come.
The CSV-13 is one of Braun’s early stereo Hi-Fi amplifiers and formed the heart of the renowned Braun Studio systems of the 1960s. It features a fully transistorised design with separate controls for volume, balance and tone adjustment. Its minimalist aluminum front panel and clearly arranged controls are characteristic of Dieter Rams’ functional design philosophy.
The CE-16 tuner was introduced as a matching component for Braun’s Hi-Fi systems. It features FM reception with precise tuning and the same understated design language as the amplifier. Together with the CSV-13 it forms one of Braun’s most iconic early stereo combinations.
The PCS-5 record player is among the most celebrated Braun designs of the period. It features a heavy precision turntable, suspended chassis construction and a beautifully engineered tonearm assembly. The transparent acrylic dust cover and clean geometric form have made the PCS-5 a highly sought-after collector’s piece and a landmark in HiFi design history.
The L470 speakers complement the system with a balanced and detailed sound reproduction. Their compact architectural appearance perfectly matches the electronics, creating a complete HiFi setup that remains as visually relevant today as when it was first introduced.
